#HumlyHumans - UX Designer & Product Specialist
Julia - UX Designer & Product Specialist, Humly Sweden
1. How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Creative, Result-driven, Curious, Fair, Loyal
2. How long have you worked for Humly?
Since October 2023.
3. Can you describe what you do day-to-day?
My day-to-day routine is quite dynamic as it largely depends on ongoing projects and the number of product-related queries or issues in the inbox. Some days, I start by tackling issues, while on other days I focus on researching, designing, and testing ongoing projects. When needed, I create documentation to help users get the most out of our products.
4. What’s the most challenging part of your job, and how do you usually challenge it?
The most challenging part of my job is finding solutions that seamlessly combine functionality and aesthetics without compromising either. Additionally, identifying the root cause of product-related issues can sometimes be tricky. To tackle these challenges, I collaborate with cross-functional teams and seek feedback for effective problem-solving.
5. From your experiences as UX Designer & Product Specialist at Humly, what do you believe are some of the most essential skills or attributes needed to thrive in this role?
I believe effective communication, creativity, analytic thinking and a grasp of the broader context are essential skills.
6. What’s one professional achievement you’re most proud of?
I would say it is my master's thesis I finalised before the summer of 2023. It focused on improving the user experience of visual analytics by making it more accessible to everyone and I discovered that tiny adjustments can have a significant impact.
7. What do you do outside of work to unwind?
Enjoy stand-up comedy, eat a bowl of pasta or fall asleep on the couch to a good movie.
8. Where is your favourite travel destination?
Skiing in the Alps or eating Gyros in Greece.
9. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I have completed the toughest obstacle race twice, once in Amsterdam and again in Gothenburg. Also, although I'm right-handed, I tend to use my left hand dominantly for most sports such as floorball and pool.
