#HumlyHumans - Product Owner | UX Designer
Ludvig - Product Owner | UX Designer, Humly Sweden
1. How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
I am a positive pessimist.
2. How long have you worked for Humly?
Since February 2022.
3. Can you describe what you do day-to-day?
My job is very varied but a typical day includes things such as:
- Ad-hoc design crits,
- Collaborating with developers and stakeholders.
- Shaping feedback and ideas into tangible projects.
- Sketching, anything from vague process outlines to pixel-perfect user interfaces and all things in between.
4. What’s the most challenging part of your job, and how do you usually challenge it?
Product work is messy, and it requires tons of creativity. There are always things to improve, and nothing’s ever complete. Finding this environment motivational rather than overwhelming can sometimes be a challenge. To succeed, our product team encourages each other to embrace these opportunities. Seeing every day as an opportunity to learn and get better, both as a company and individually.
5. From your experiences as a Product Owner & UX Designer at Humly, what do you believe are some of the most essential skills or attributes needed to thrive in this role?
Three aspects I see as important in both my roles: 1. Being communicative, 2. Understanding the value of both details and the whole picture, and 3. Finding it exciting to deep-dive into the unknown and explore wicked problems.
6. What’s one professional achievement you’re most proud of?
Probably the fact that we’ve completely redesigned the app in less than a year. And by that, we’ve gone from having a neutral user experience satisfaction to now reaching very high satisfaction levels across the table. And even better, we’re only getting started.
7. What do you do outside of work to unwind?
I do a lot of running but I also spend a lot of time lying on the sofa, watching reality shows.
8. Where is your favourite travel destination?
Hmm.. Tough to pick a specific destination. But I do love skiing, so perhaps somewhere in the Alps? Standing on a snow-covered mountain always puts a smile on my face.
9. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
My first ever job, roughly ten years back, was actually as a supply teacher. I taught Maths & English to Year group 7-9 in my hometown. So I’m sort of back where it all began.
