#HumlyHumans - Operations Team Leader
Abi - Team Leader, Humly South
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Adventurous, competitive, equitable, humourous and Mum
How long have you worked for Humly?
6 years as Simply Supply and 2yrs as Humly
Can you describe what you do day-to-day?
An early start, followed by my kids (12 yr old twins) telling me they need a particular cookery item/gum shield/or other item that I have no way of sourcing at 6:30am! Then I get to work where I manage a large secondary desk as well as supporting and motivating a team of four dedicated Education Consultants who work with over 300 education providers on the south coast.
Depending on the day, I then do the school run followed by standing on the side of a football pitch/boxing ring or I go for a run, then home to eat and tune in to watch whatever series me and the hubby are watching (currently Vigil) before heading to bed.
What’s the most challenging part of your job, and how do you usually challenge it?
Sourcing and recruiting enough qualified educators to meet the demands of our schools, colleges and nurseries.
From your experiences as Team Leader at Humly, what do you believe are some of the most essential skills or attributes needed to thrive in this role?
Experience of growing and managing a large number of clients and educators and knowing all the best practices and challenges associated with recruiting for the education sector. Being able to lead by example and provide advice and support when it’s needed.
What’s one professional achievement you’re most proud of?
Growing the secondary division at Simply Supply from a few clients to a division the size that it is now with Humly
What do you do outside of work to unwind?
Planning a holiday or any trip away. I'm a saddo that enjoys spending hours finding the best value/time flights, perfect locations and fun excursions
Where is your favourite travel destination?
That's a tough one... We had an amazing group ski holiday to Morzine a couple of winters ago and I'd love to go back.
Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I played basketball for SW England, I also used to be a pole vaulter, I can walk on stilts and I'm handy with a diabolo (I should have joined the circus!)
