#HumlyHumans - Chief Executive Officer
Gustav - CEO, Humly
1. How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Calm, results-driven, engaged, ambitious and business-minded
2. How long have you worked for Humly?
Since January 2015.
3. Can you describe what you do day-to-day?
On a day-to-day basis a lot of my work is around leading and managing the company. Primarily focus on strategy, steering and follow-up of our plans and enabling our great employees to execute and perform great work together.
4. What’s the most challenging part of your job, and how do you usually challenge it?
The most challenging part of my job is to make sure we move the company in the right direction and prioritise those areas where we gain the results we need at the moment. This is a landscape that continuously evolves and is challenging, and what you think is right one month can all of a sudden shift.
5. From your experiences as Humly CEO, what do you believe are some of the most essential skills or attributes needed to thrive in this role?
You have to be able to be strategic and see the whole landscape. You don’t need to be an expert in any field, but know a bit of everything. You also have to be able to surround yourself with experts and make sure you lead and get the most out of each employee to gain results.
6. What’s one professional achievement you’re most proud of?
I'm most proud that Humly has become a company that always continues to develop and grow. This gives me, personally, an environment where I can grow and achieve new things to be proud of, such as successfully entering and thriving in the UK market. It creates so many opportunities for Humly.
7. What do you do outside of work to unwind?
Play with my kids or do a workout.
8. Where is your favourite travel destination?
I believe the Swedish west coast in the summertime is one of the most beautiful places. Besides that, I really like the U.S. and especially the West Coast between L.A. and San Francisco.
9. Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I swam a lot when I was young, but I've always been a very bad runner. During my teenage years, I would do a +10k swim a couple of times every year, but the first time I did a +10k run was in May 2023.
I'm happy that I have started to make some progress with running.
